Mt. Rinjani Summit 3 days 2 nights

Mt. Rinjani Summit 3 days 2 nights trek. This is a great option for those wanting to experience the summit of Rinjani. Your first day you will climb up to the crater to camp, watch the sunset and the next day climb up to the summit for the sunrise. After this, you will climb down to the lake for lunch and enjoy the hot springs. You will then climb up again to the other side of the crater for a breathtaking sunset and panoramic view to the west. The next morning, you have 4-5 hours to climb back down to Senaru.

Note: This programme is designed especially for experienced trekker. Participants must be in good level of fitness and have several mountain climbs experiences.

 

Sembalun gate to Rinjani

Day 1
Our adventure begins at 7am. Our team of guides and porters will pick you up at your hotel location. Our first stop is The Rinjani Trekking Center(RTC) located in Sembalun village, a 1 hour drive from Senaru Village. At the RTC we will do an online check-in and pick up our tickets to Rinjani National Park. You will need to provide your passport for the online check-in at this time. After a brief medical check at the RTC we will begin our trek. The first part of our journey begins at the entrance to Rinjani National Park where we will hike to post #1, normally this takes around 2 hours. During these first 2 hours we will be walking among the homes and farms of the local Sasak people and then into a spacious savannah. At post #1 we will take a short break. Continuing on to post #2 usually takes 45 minutes and once we arrive at post #2 we will take a break for lunch prepared by our porters. After lunch we will continue to post #3, a 1 hour walk. Once we have arrived at post #3 we are around 3 hours away from the crater rim campsite where you will sleep. This section of the climb begins to become more steep and provides a beautiful panoramic view of Sembalun village. Arriving at the crater rim campsite around 4pm your tents will be ready for you to have a short rest while our porters prepare an afternoon snack for you. Dinner will be ready at 6:30 and after that you can rest for the summit trek the following morning.

Day 2 – Summit
We will wake up at 1:30 in the morning with coffee or tea and a light breakfast. After you have eaten we will begin the trek to the summit for sunrise. Normally the trek to the summit takes around 3 hours depending on how fast we go. We will be trekking in the dark so it’s important to have a flashlight for this section. The trek to the summit has many sections that are sand and gravel and some of the most tiring of the trek but our guides will be with you the whole way to help you. During this time you will be rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view of Bali, Sumbawa, and all of Lombok and the Gilis. Once we’ve reached the summit of Mt. Rinjani at 3,726masl we will take time for a short break and photos. Upon returning to the crater rim campsite after the summit our porters will have breakfast prepared and waiting for you. After breakfast we will begin the journey to Segara Anak Lake and to the relaxing natural hot springs. Our journey down to the lake will take about 3 hours where we will have lunch after you enjoy a refreshing time hot springs. From the lake we will have a beautiful view of the active volcano Mt.Baru Jari. After lunch we will continue our trek to crater rim Senaru on the western side of Mt. Rinjani. At crater rim Senaru we will witness a beautiful sunset while you enjoy your dinner.

Day 3 – The Final Day
We will have breakfast prepared for you at 7am and begin our trek down to Senaru Village at 8am. The final part of our trek carries it’s own unique beauty and story as we will be trekking through the protected cultural forest of Senaru. In this forest there are many beautiful birds and other animals we can see that are special to this forest. From the crater rim to Senaru Village is normally 6 hours long with breaks if needed. Lunch will be prepared at post #1 around 5 hours after we have begun our journey. Our trek will end at Senaru Traditional Village, here traditions and local culture are preserved and if we’re lucky a traditional ceremony could be taking place. Feel free to take photos and meet with the Indegenious Senaru Bayan people and see their traditional grass hut homes.
